Back to School

It was back to school for me, but thankfully only for a day, when I visited St Matthias primary school in Malvern, Worcestershire. The project was the brainchild of St Matthias teacher Emma Rowe, wife of my colleague and friend, Hay Fisher Motorsport Cameraman Martin Rowe. The British Formula 3 championship promoter, the SRO MOTORSPORTS GROUP, invited us to help bring motorsports alive for the pupils. They were shown a film about British Formula 3 in school assembly and then set a challenge to design, build and refine a racing buggy of their own. In addition to the excitement of the competition, I gave pupils a talk on broadcasting and reporting and even had some of them the chance to try it for themselves. They were brilliant and the enthusiasm was phenomenal. We all had a brilliant day…
